We are the Training Centre of choice for the majority of
Government , Commercial and Professional Agencies' Boat squads.
We have a range of training courses to suit everyone , from
Absolute Beginner to Advanced Instructor.
The school operates an extensive and modern
fleet of Training Craft which range from Shannon Cruisers
to Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs).
RIBs are the rally cars of the sea. Their high speed agility
and excellent all weather handling have endeared them to Rescue,
Military and Law Enforcement agencies around the world.
Lough Ree's combination of quiet tracts of water with busy
marinas and navigation lanes make it an ideal all year round
location for Motor and Power Boat training.
The principal, Stuart McNamara is a seasoned sailor and power
boat instructor with over twenty years of experience. He is
the Irish Sailing Association's National Motor Boat and Power
Boat Trainer.
In 1998 he was appointed as National Power Boat Trainer
by the Irish Sailing Association and as National Motor Boat
Trainer by both the Irish Sailing Association and the Inland
Waterways Association of Ireland.
He holds qualifications in Offshore Navigation, Sea Survival,
First Aid, Marine VHF, and Diving. He skippered both the inaugural
"Shannon Sprint" Power Boat Speed Record and the 1994 Round
Ireland Power Boat Record Attempt. In 1995 he was one of a
three man team who sailed a 65' Ketch Trans-Atlantic from
Bermuda to Ireland.
A highly experienced, professional team led by Stuart is
qualified to teach and certify students on a full range of
Motorboat and Power Boat Courses ranging from Beginner to
Instructor.
